29 Jul - The upcoming "Thai Cave Rescue" limited series is set to stream on Netflix in two months' time. The news was shared by the streaming giant, stating that the series about the real-life rescue of 12 boys and their adult football coach who were trapped for 18 days in a Tham Luang cave in northern Thailand will be releasing on 22 September. It is noted that unlike the upcoming Ron Howard film, "Thirteen Lives", this limited series is a partnership between Netflix and filmmakers across Thailand.
The series will have six episodes, filmed entirely in Thailand, and shown through the perspectives of the boys at the centre of the rescue. Baz Poonpiriya ("Bad Genius") and US director Kevin Tancharoen ("The Book of Boba Fett") helmed the project, which stars Papangkorn "Beam" Lerkchaleampote as Coach Eak, Thaneth "Ek" Warakulnukroh as Chiang Rai Governor Narongsak Osottanakorn, Supakorn "Tok" Kitsuwan as former Navy SEAL diver Saman "Ja Sam" Gunan, and Bloom Varin as army doctor Colonel Bhak Loharjun.
