18 Apr – Rumour has it that Thandiwe Newton is heading to rehab following her departure from "Magic Mike 3". According to Page Six, sources are saying that Newton has been battling emotional and familial issues following the separation from husband of 24 years, Ol Parker. "Thandiwe had been acting strange on set, she has been very highly strung. Her apparent breakdown caused so much disruption, it became clear she couldn't play the role," said one source. "There is a lot going on in her personal life, she and her husband have separated. She seemed so stressed; she even brought her two pet rabbits to her hotel for emotional support."
Reportedly, Newton's agent also had to fly to London to ease situation, before she made her way back to the US. "Thandiwe's team wants her to go to rehab for mental health support. She was supposed to leave immediately for a facility, they tried for a Malibu rehab, but they couldn't take her. Arrangements are now being made to go to a facility in Arizona, if she agrees to go," said the source. Prior to the latest rumour, Newton dismissed reports that she and actor-producer Channing Tatum had a row about the Chris Rock-Will Smith controversy, with her rep saying that it was completely inaccurate. Newton has been replaced with Salma Hayek.
