10 Jan – After announcing its 11 March theatrical release, Disney recently updated that its upcoming Pixar movie, "Turning Red" will now be heading exclusively to Disney+ instead. The decision was made by the studio recently despite reports that the Omicron variant of the COVID-19 pandemic is looking to subside. However, the animated feature will still be released theatrically where the Disney+ streaming platform is not available.
It is noted that "Turning Red" is the third Pixar movie to be released straight to Disney+, following "Soul" and "Luca". The upcoming film features the voice talent of Rosalie Chiang as 13-year-old Mei Lee, who finds herself turning into a giant red panda whenever she gets too excited. It is directed by Domee Shi, who previously helmed Pixar short, "Bao".
