28 Feb – Julian Cheah Pictures (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd is elated to announce that its new movie, "Eidolon: Bayangan Dendam" will be releasing in cinemas on 9 March.

The movie, directed by Don Hoe and stars the producer himself Julian Cheah alongside Chazynash, Tyty Nazmin, Faeiz, Fifi, and Cik My among others, is a horror picture that mixes revenge, mystery and the supernatural.

"I am so excited that this movie is finally ready to meet the audiences on 9 March," said Julian. "It's been a dream of mine to helm a horror movie after working on various genres. What's more exciting is that I am presenting this movie along with talented individuals both on and off the screen."

Julian also stated that he is planning to take the movie to world festivals, as a way to show the world that Malaysian horror movies are not just made-up, but based on our human relationships with the mystics.

That is also why the producer decided to use the word "Eidolon" in the title, which in ancient Greek literature refers to a spirit-image of a living or dead person; a shade or phantom look-alike of the human form.

Director Don Hoe added, "Inside everyone hides a monster."

Both the director and producer take their responsibilities seriously and are hopeful that "Eidolon: Bayangan Dendam" will be able to penetrate the international market and at the same time, increase the recognition of Malaysia as a producer of quality films.

The movie, which has a 105-minute running time, tells the story of a husband and wife who rented a village homestay for their holiday, only to find that it contains its own mystery.

The movie will also feature special guest appearances from Nik Amirul Faiz, Zack Aminuddin, Jean Tan and Jeffrey Leong.
