Kajol says no to remakes of her hit movies

1 Mar – Kajol doesn't really think there is a necessity to remake her hit movies, namely "Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge" and "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham".

The actress, who has starred in some of the biggest Bollywood movies in the '90s and early 2000s, stated her belief that the magic can only be created once.

"If you recreate it, it just fizzles out and it won't have the same feel," she said. "You'll always be disappointed regardless of how well it is portrayed and done. Magic has a feel to it. Films give you that feel. You feel something when you watch them for the first time and nothing replicates that feeling.

This is not the first time the actress has expressed her feelings about doing such remakes, though she has no issue with making a sequel to those franchises.

Both "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge" and "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham" have Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan playing lovers, with the first movie, released in 1995, still considered one of the most successful Indian films in history.
