11 Jul – Margot Robbie gave a new meaning to the iconic "Mean Girls" line of "On Wednesdays we wear pink" as she made it compulsory for her cast and crew to wear pink at least once a week while they were filming "Barbie".

This piece of information was revealed by co-star Ryan Gosling, who shared with People that Robbie created the weekly dress code and would penalise those who failed to do so.

"Margot had this pink day once a week, where everyone had to wear something pink," Gosling said. "And if you didn't, you were fined. She would go around collecting the fines, and she would donate it to a charity."

However, Gosling added that everybody actually loved the pink day.

"At the end of the film, they all got together and, with their own money, made pink crew shirts with rainbow fringe. It was this opportunity for them to show their respect and admiration for what Margot and Greta were creating. It was almost like that scene at the end of 'Dead Poets Society,' where they all get on their desks and say, 'O captain! My captain!'" he said.

The upcoming movie, which sees Robbie and Gosling playing Barbie and Ken, will be released on 21 July.
