29 Mar – Questlove is set to helm the live-action remake of Disney's "The Aristocats". The musician and filmmaker, real name Ahmir Thompson, confirmed the good news via social media, writing, "They chose I to chase the cat... I basically have [two] life goals: 1. Don't dismiss my dreams, [and] 2. Get out of my own way." The news was received with much elation, with singer and Bruno Mars collaborator Anderson Paak even commented, "Where do I send my audition tape?"
The film is based on a story by Tom McGowan and Tom Rowe, and had the Sherman Brothers and their team composing classic songs like, "Ev'rybody Wants to Be a Cat" and "Thomas O'Malley Cat". Questlove will oversee the music of the film as well, with Will Gluck and Keith Bunin penning the script.
