22 Mar - David F. Sandberg seemed quite upset over the negative reviews given by critics to his superhero movie, "Shazam! Fury of the Gods", as he took to Twitter to express his feelings about it.

On 21 March, the filmmaker, who previously received praise for the first movie that was released in 2019, took to Twitter to share his thoughts, writing, "On Rotten Tomatoes I just got my lowest critic score and my highest audience score on the same film. I wasn't expecting a repeat of the first movie critically but I was still a little surprised because I think it's a good film. Oh well."

Sandberg stated that he doesn't regret making the Shazam movies at all, as he learned so much from the experiences. However, he would like to return to his original love, which is horror.

It is noted that prior to "Shazam", the Swedish filmmaker is known for the horror flicks, "Lights Out" and "Annabelle: Creation".

"One thing I've really been looking forward to is disconnecting from the superhero discourse online. A lot of that stresses me out so much and it will be nice not having to think about that anymore," he added.

It is noted that "Shazam! Fury of the Gods" had not done well in its early numbers, and only made a USD 30.5 million during its opening weekend. The movie had the budget of USD 210 million for both production and marketing.
