10 Jul - Simu Liu recently assured that there will still be movie number two for Shang-Chi, after many months of silence.

In a recent "Ask Me Anything" session he did on his Thread account, Liu was asked to update fans about the sequel to his Marvel superhero movie, "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings", to which he said, "Was told it would follow Avengers. But that keeps pushing back due to circumstances beyond my control."

Liu has not elaborated on what he meant by "circumstances", though it is noted that Marvel has been facing lots of tough situations, including Kang actor Jonathan Majors facing assault charges, which in turn caused the studio to push back the release dates of "Avengers: Secret Wars" and "Avengers: The Kang Dynasty".

At the same time, the studio is also facing delays to other projects due to the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike.

Prior to the issues, it was revealed that Destin Daniel Cretton would return to write and direct the sequel of the hit 2021 superhero movie.
