The news was shared by director Vidhu Vinod Chopra during his appearance the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards 2024 that took place in Abu Dhabi, saying that the movie is titled "Zero Se Shuruwat" ("Zero Se Restart").

It is noted that "12th Fail" was a hit when it was released in cinemas, as well as one of the most watched Indian films on Netflix. It is based on a book by Anurag Pathak and chronicles the life of Manoj Kumar Sharma, who overcame extreme poverty to become an Indian Police Service officer.

The movie was even released in China earlier this year, with 20,000 screens given to it. "China really caters to the entertainment sector and hence the numbers [of screens]," the director had added.

It is noted that Chopra's films are no stranger to the Chinese market, as "3 Idiots", of which he produced, opened the doors for Indian films to one of the biggest film markets to-date.

Vikrant Massey, who played the role of Manoj Kumar Sharma, also won praises for his performance, though lost to Shah Rukh Khan in the Best Actor category at the IIFA Awards.
