8 Mar - It is confirmed. Alia Bhatt will be joining the YRF spy universe.

The news was confirmed by Yash Raj Films CEO Akshaye Widhani on 5 March, saying that the actress will star in her own movie that will be a part of the same universe as the "Tiger", "War" and "Pathaan" franchises.

"I will share the worst-kept secret in the industry, which is Alia Bhatt is headlining a spy universe film and that the schedule starts later this year ... We are actually just so thrilled and excited about having this IP in the studio," Widhani said.

It is noted that the said spy universe currently has Hrithik Roshan, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan.

"There's a lot of stuff that's going to come into the spy universe. We are going to see more and more films getting made under it. For now, I can just say that Alia Bhatt is headlining a spy universe film," he added.

The upcoming movie will see Alia collaborating with "Bunty Aur Babli 2" star Sharvari Wagh.

The next film in YRF's spy franchise is Hrithik Roshan's "War 2", which will be directed by Ayan Mukerji.
