5 Aug - "Deadpool & Wolverine" continues to make bank in the second week of its release. The movie, which earned USD 211 million on opening weekend last week, has now made another USD 97 million in the US and USD 110.5 million overseas, bringing a total of USD 428.5 million internationally. Adding to the US cume of USD 395.6 million, the movie has now made USD 824.1 million at the global box office in two weeks.
It has now become the top grossing R-rated movie in the US, surpassing that of Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ" (UD 371.1 million), and the number three top grossing R-rated films worldwide. The number one spot is still being held by Todd Phillips' "Joker" at USD 1.064 billion, a number that the Ryan Reynolds-starrer will almost definitely surpass in another week or so. On the other hand, "Inside Out 2" is now the top animated film of all time with USD 1.56 billion, already surpassing previous record holder, "Frozen II".
