30 Oct - It looks like Johnny Depp is finally coming back to Hollywood with a new movie that will reunite him with Penelope Cruz.

The actor, who has been filming noncommercial projects outside the US since winning his case against ex-wife Amber Heard in 2022, will be starring in a Lionsgate thriller called "Day Drinker", which will be helmed by Marc Webb.

According to THR, the film tells the story of a cruise ship bartender who meets a mysterious day drinker - only for both of them to find themselves entangled in a criminal underbelly, and connected in unexpected ways.

"Day Drinker combines a highly commercial concept with wildly outrageous twists and turns all set in an incredible world, and there is no better filmmaker than Marc or two more perfectly cast actors than Johnny and Penelope to bring that world to life," said Lionsgate Motion Picture Group chair Adam Fogelson.

Depp and Cruz have worked together three times, including in the movie "Murder on the Orient Express" and "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides".
