30 Sep - Singer-actor Kris Kristofferson has recently passed away. The news was revealed by his family in a statement that read, "It is with a heavy heart that we share the news our husband/father/grandfather, Kris Kristofferson, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Sept. 28 at home. We're all so blessed for our time with him. Thank you for loving him all these many years, and when you see a rainbow, know he's smiling down at us all." The country singer was known for writing many hits like "Sunday Morning Coming Down", "Help Me Make It Through the Night" and "Me and Bobby McGee", which became popular following the death of his singing partner, Janis Joplin. He also starred in various movies throughout the 1970s like "Blume in Love" and "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore", but it was his performance in "A Star is Born" alongside Barbara Streisand, the second remake of the 1937 movie that earned him a Golden Globe Award. He was 88.
