7 Nov - Richard Gere is gearing up to leave the United States for a new life, all the way in Spain.

It was reported that the "Pretty Woman" star has sold his Connecticut property, which has six bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a pool as well as gardens for USD 11 million, after acquiring it for USD 10.8 million in 2022.

It is noted that Gere previously planned to turn the 32-acre property into a farm before he decided to leave the country altogether.

Gere, who is married to Spanish publicist and political activist Alejandra Silva, reportedly decided to move to his wife's home country so that Silva can be close to her relatives.

"For Alejandra, it will be wonderful to be closer to her family, her lifelong friends and her culture," said the actor in a previous interview. "She was very generous in giving me six years of living in my world, so it is only fair that I give her at least another six living in hers."

However, Gere said he will maintain his place in New York.

The two are parents to sons Alexander and James, ages 5 and 4. Gere is also father to son Homer from his second marriage to Carey Lowell.
