14 May – Steve Buscemi was revealed to have been the latest star to have been attacked randomly in New York.

As reported on Deadline, the 66-year-old "Boardwalk Empire" star was walking in the Kips Bay neighbourhood on Manhattan's East on last Wednesday when a man suddenly appeared and struck him in the face.

The actor was left with a swollen left eye and face and was taken to Bellevue Hospital for treatment.

Said his rep, "Steve is okay and appreciates everyone's well wishes, though incredibly sad for everyone that this has happened to him while also walking the streets of New York."

It is noted that there have been several incidents involving an attack on celebrities over the last few years. This includes Rick Moranis, Michael Stuhlbarg and Bethenny Frankel.
