12 Aug - The worst kept secret ever came to fruition to nobody's surprise at the closing ceremony of the Paris Olympics 2024, as Tom Cruise made an appearance to perform his death-defying stunt.

The news of Cruise's appearance at the ceremony was already leaked to the media a few days prior to the closing ceremony, which made the whole surprise a little tainted as the "Mission: Impossible" actor abseiled off the Stade de France roof in his leather jacket and gloves to H.E.R guitar performance.

He was then welcomed by a crowd of athletes as he landed in the stadium from a 50m height, took the Olympic flag from American gymnast Simone Biles before leaving on a motorcycle.

A prerecorded video then showed Cruise travelling through Paris, arriving in LA at the Hollywood sign and unfurled the Olympic colours to mark Los Angeles as the Olympics 2028 host city.

Cruise later shared a photo from the top of the stadium on social media and wrote, "Thank you, Paris. Now off to LA."
