Vikram nearly had organ failure filming 2015's "I"

Vikram's 'poison' is his passion for acting

6 Sep - Tamil actor Vikram recently revealed that he nearly experienced organ failure after drastically shedding his weight for his 2015 movie, "I".

The actor, known by his nickname Chiyaan Vikram by his fans, said that he was warned by his doctor about his action, as it posed a risk to his health. This is after he was unable to see properly for 2- 3 months when he played a blind man for "Kasi".

"When I did 'Kasi', I couldn't see for two to three months because I had my eye lids up all the time. I was at the risk of getting a squint eye. Then when I did 'I' I did drastic changes. My weight got down to 52 kg at the that time from 86 kg. I wanted to get down to 50 kg but my doctor said, 'Go easy let's not get excited for this because I can see perimeters changing a bit and if main organs fail then it may be a problem, we don't know how to revive you.' Then I stopped."

Meanwhile, he also lost a little bit of weight and even shaved half his head for his latest movie, "Thangalaan". Vikram added that he also suffered a rib fracture while filming the movie.

The actor admitted that while he is not someone who drinks and smokes, his poison seems to be his passion for acting and cinema.
