22 Oct - Adam Driver recently revealed that there could have been a Ben Solo/Kylo Ren movie if not for the fact that Disney decided that they don't want it.

The actor, who plays Ben Solo, the son of Han Solo and Leia Organa, said that he and director Steven Soderbergh actually pitched Lucasfilm and Disney a spinoff movie from the 2019's "The Rise of Skywalker".

"I always was interested in doing another Star Wars. I had been talking about doing another one since 2021. Kathleen (Kennedy) had reached out. I always said: With a great director and a great story, I'd be there in a second. I loved that character and loved playing him," he said.

Driver said that Soderbergh wrote a script that he thought was one of the coolest scripts he had ever been a part of, titled "The Hunt for Ben Solo". They then presented the script to Lucasfilm, which expressed interest in the idea.

"[Then] We took it to Bob Iger and Alan Bergman and they said no. They didn't see how Ben Solo was alive. And that was that," he said.

Soderbergh also commented on the rejected project, saying, "I really enjoyed making the movie in my head. I'm just sorry the fans won't get to see it."
