12 Dec - Alia Bhatt was recently named the recipient of the Golden Globes Horizon Award at the Red Sea International Film Festival.

The news was confirmed by the film festival via social media on 11 December, revealing, "We were proud to partner with the Golden Globes to honour Hend Sabry and Alia Bhatt with the Omar Sharif Award and the Golden Globes Horizon Award, respectively, on the sidelines of the fifth edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival."

"These awards honour the contributions of creative individuals throughout the Middle East, Asia and North Africa," it added.

The Bollywood actress is already a part of the Red Sea's activities to promote her upcoming new action spy flick, "Alpha," which is a part of the Yash Raj Films Spy universe.

"Alpha is the first female-led action film from the YRF universe, so that's also a risk, because you've not historically seen that perform in the same way that the other male-led films have performed," she said in an interview.
