18 Aug - Amitabh Bachchan is one happy father as he celebrated the success of son Abhishek, who won Best Actor award at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne's Awards Night 2025.

Expressing how proud he is on his blog, the veteran actor wrote, "Abhishek, you are the pride and honour of the family. You fly the flag that Dada ji established, and have carried it through with valour and hard work, consistency, never giving in, and an attitude of: the more you pull me down, I'll stand again with my hard work and will stand taller."

"It took time, but you didn't give up. You have shown the world on your own merit. You have been announced as the first artiste in Melbourne. No gift can be bigger for a father than this."

Reflecting on Abhishek's journey, Amitabh said, "They that command the informative wood-derived paperwork, had ridiculed me and my paternal flamboyance of selfish promotion and sniggered at my advertised pride. The sly and scornful laugh has been silenced by respect and admiration, applaud and admiration."

Meanwhile, Abhishek, who won the award for his performance in "I Want to Talk", reflected on his journey with the festival, and said, "Life has come full circle for me. I came here in 2022, where I was feted with the Excellence in Cinema Award. To now receive Best Actor on the same stage, for a film that's extremely special to me, is overwhelming."
