"Coyote Ugly" cast reunites after 25 years for LA wildfire relief


"Coyote Ugly" celebrates 25 years with charity event
19 Feb - Fans of the "Coyote Ugly" girls will be happy to know that the cast are reuniting for a good cause.

Stars of the movie, as well as producer Jerry Bruckheimer, will be hosting a screening and a Q&A session at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica on 26 February to celebrate the film's 25th anniversary. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Global Empowerment Mission in its efforts to support those affected by the devastating LA wildfires.

Stars who will attend include Piper Perabo, Maria Bello, Bridget Moynahan, Izabella Miko, Melanie Lynskey, LeAnn Rimes and Tyra Banks, the latter whose home was also lost in the fires.

Inspired by the real Coyote Ugly Saloon chain, the 2001 film tells the story of Violet (Piper Perabo) who becomes a barmaid at the saloon while pursuing her dream of becoming a singer.

It made USD 113.9 million at the box office from a budget of USD 45 million, with the film's original song, "Can't Fight the Moonlight" hitting the top spots in music charts.
