2 Dec - Dame Judi Dench recently revealed that the reason that she hasn't had any new films is due to the progressively worsening condition of her eyes throughout the years.

The 90-year-old veteran actress, who previously revealed that she was diagnosed with age-related macular degeneration, a condition that causes blurred vision or reduced central vision common among people over the age of 50, told ITV that she can't really see anymore.

"I can't recognise anybody now... I can't see the television, I can't see to read," she said.

In an old interview, Dench said that she was already struggling to read her own scripts due to her condition, and had to rely on help from friends and family members.

"It's usually my daughter or my agent or a friend and actually I like that, because I sit there and imagine the story in my mind," she said at the time.

"The most distressing thing is in a restaurant in the evening, I can't see the person I'm having dinner with."
