26 Sep - Henry Cavill fans, Idris Elba fans, and even Austin Butler fans, we're very sorry to tell you but there is a chance that none of these guys could be your new James Bond.

Insiders recently revealed that filmmaker Denis Villeneuve, who has been tasked to helm the new 007 films, is looking for a "fresh face" to play the role of the beloved British MI6 spy.

In addition to the actor being someone who isn't already the face of a different franchise, the team also wants someone British, which means none of your Glen Powell, Austin Butler or Jacob Elordi, and someone in their "late 20s to early 30s", so say goodbye to the 47-year-old Tom Hardy, 53-year-old Idris Elba and 42-year-old Henry Cavill.

It was also reported that Villeneuve will only begin filming the first Bond film of his in 2027, which means that more fan favourites could be out of the running, including Aaron Taylor Johnson, Josh O'Connor and Richard Madden.

The upcoming project will be penned by Steven Knight, known for his works like "Eastern Promises" and "Peaky Blinders".
