27 Mar - After previously leaving the job in 2020, it was announced that Hans Isaac has been reinstated as the Chairman of the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS).

Sharing the news on social media, the former actor stated that his term of service with the Malaysian Stadium Corporation (Perbadanan Stadium Malaysia/ PSM) has ended and that he will step into the role of FINAS Chairman again.

"I had served as FINAS Chairman and had to resign due to the political imbalance at that time. There are various manifestos that I want to implement in the industry including lifting up the behind-the-scenes warriors so they can receive equality equal to their hard work," he posted.

"A heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to the Minister of Communications, YB Datuk Ahmad Fahmi bin Mohamed Fadzil for believing in me to carry out my responsibilities in FINAS," he added.

Hans, who served previously for nearly a year between 2019 and 2020, is replacing Datuk Kamil Othman, whose two-year service ended on 22 February. Kamil has now been elected the Industry Advisor for FINAS.

The appointment was warmly celebrated by the CEO of FINAS, Datuk Azmir Saifuddin Mutalib, who took to Instagram to express his congratulations. "Highest appreciation and congratulations to Datuk Gerald Hans Isaac on his appointment as Chairman of the National Film Development Corporation of Malaysia (Finas) effective 26 March 2025," he wrote.
