Nearly three decades after the original, Ice Cube returns in the new "Anaconda" reboot

16 Dec - It was a pleasant surprise to all fans of the original "Anaconda", after Ice Cube appeared at the premiere of the film's new remake.

The rapper-actor, real name O'Shea Jackson, arrived at the Los Angeles premiere alongside lead actors Paul Rudd and Jack Black, and revealed that it was great to have been asked to do a cameo.

"[It] kind of make it go full circle in a way," he said. "When they asked me to do it, when I knew the kind of movie they were doing, I jumped at it. I'm like, 'This is something different. It's cool.'"

Ice Cube added that people would be excited to see him popping on the screen.

Paul Rudd and Jack Black stars in the new action-comedy "Anaconda"

In the original film co-starring Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube plays the role of cameraman Danny Rich, who is a part of a documentary crew filming the Shirishamas, a long-lost indigenous Amazonian tribe.

The new movie, which is an action comedy, stars Jack Black and Paul Rudd as Doug and Griff, who travel to the Amazon to film an amateur remake of the 1997 "Anaconda," only to have their project unravels when a real giant anaconda emerges.

Helmed by Tom Gormican, the movie also co-stars Steve Zahn, Thandiwe Newton and Daniela Melchior among others.
