23 Jan - "Joker: Folie à Deux" continues to be the butt of the joke by film fans and critics, as it has now led the nominees for this year's Golden Raspberry Awards, aka the Razzies.

The film, which was universally panned when it was released last year, bagged seven nominations at the parody awards served to honour the worst cinematic failures, including Worst Picture, Worst Actor for Joaquin Phoenix and Worst Actress for Lady Gaga.

The Razzies described the movie as "a highly anticipated comic-book based sequel that had its protagonists express their mental illness and villainy - by singing and dancing!"

"Madame Web" getting six nominations is a no-brainer for many

This is followed by "Borderlands", "Madame Web", "Megalopolis" and "Reagan" with each having six nominations.

It is noted that nominees were chosen via emailed ballots to 1,202 Razzie members consisting of movie buffs, film critics and journalists from 49 states, as well as about two dozen foreign countries who chose five top contenders in each of nine categories.

Cate Blanchett is a two-time Oscar nominee and may receive a Razzie as well for "Borderlands"
