14 Jul - After kicking many Hollywood movies from their spots as the highest grossing films of all time, it was revealed that China's animated feature, "Ne Zha 2" will finally be coming to the US with Michelle Yeoh as one of its voice talents.

The Oscar-winner was revealed to have been cast to voice one of the lead characters in the English version of the movie, which will open in the US and Canada on 22 August, joining in Australia and New Zealand that will be screening the movie on the same date.

"I'm honoured to be part of Ne Zha 2, a landmark in Chinese animation and a powerful reminder of how universal our stories can be," Michelle said in a statement. "Sharing this with audiences in English is such a joy, and I can't wait for everyone to experience the wonder, heart, spectacular artistry, and magic of this film on the big screen."

The theatrical release is revealed to be a collaboration between the Chinese state-backed company CMC Pictures as well as A24, the same studio that produced Michelle's star-winning performance, "Everything Everywhere All at Once".

A sequel to 2019's "Ne Zha", the movie follows the rebellious titular demigod, as he faces an ancient force bent on humanity's destruction.

The movie made USD 2.2 billion at the box office, making it the fifth highest grossing film of all time, besting films like "Star Wars: The Force Awakens", "Avengers: Infinity War" and "Inside Out 2", the previous animated film that made it to top 10.
