31 Jul - It looks like another beloved title is taking the path of sequels, as it was reported that "My Best Friend's Wedding" may also be developing movie number two.

The 1997 Sony classic reportedly is in the first phase of development, with Canadian filmmaker Celine Song to write the script for the movie. The South Korean scribe is known for movies like "Materialist" and "Past Lives", and had been nominated in the Best original Screenplay at the 2024 Academy Awards.

However, it was reported that Song was not attached to direct the film.

The original starred Julia Roberts as Julianne, who, after finding out that her best friend Michael (Dermot Mulroney) is tying the knot to another woman, decides to try and stop the wedding in four days' time. It co-stars Cameron Diaz and Rupert Everett.

The film made USD 172 million at the global box office against USD 38 million budget, which made it a significant box office success.
