8 Jul - David Corenswet recently revealed that he did not go into playing Superman blindly, as he did consult with the actors of the previous iterations of the DC superhero.

Speaking about it in an interview with UK's Heart recently, Corenswet said that he had the pleasure of exchanging letters with the previous Superman stars, the "Man of Steel" starrer Henry Cavill and The CW's "Superman & Lois" star, Tyler Hoechlins.

"They were very encouraging and we had a lovely exchange and I'm excited to meet them one day. It'll be great when we can all get in a room together," he enthused.

As to what both of them said to him, Corenswet said, "Both of them, interestingly, sort of said in their own words, 'I'm not gonna try to give you any tips.' And I think that's a very Superman thing."

He added, "They really just conveyed to me an encouragement and a sense of, you know, have fun with it. Which I think is Superman's way of doing it too."

Directed by James Gunn for the new DC Universe, "Superman" will be making its premiere on 10 July.
