"Jana Nayagan" and "Parasakthi" are releasing back to back

Starring Sivakarthikeyan, the release of "Parasakthi" has been brought forward earlier to 10 January 2026, and fans are not happy about the timing. Here's why. "Jana Nayagan" was supposed to have the Pongal window mostly to itself when it releases on 9 January. After all, it's Vijay's last film before he fully commits to his political career. Most people assumed other big releases would steer clear out of respect.

But the "Parasakthi" team had other plans. The film was initially scheduled for release on 14 January, 5 days after "Jana Nayagan". But it has now suddenly became a next-day competitor, and Vijay's fans aren't holding back their opinions online. While Pongal usually has room for multiple releases, some see it as more than just business with talk of political undertones.
