Sylvester Stallone's "Rocky" success gets a movie

"Rocky", an inspiring underdog story
29 Aug - Anthony Ippolito has been cast to portray Sylvester Stallone in the upcoming movie, "I Play Rocky".

The actor will play a young Sly in the movie, which follows the actor's journey prior to his mega stardom, back when he was a struggling actor with a great script in his hand.

The title of the film, which will be directed by Peter Farrelly, is the crux of the story of Stallone, who refused to allow the film "Rocky" to be made without him in the lead role. United Artists eventually agreed to cast Stallone after the actor rejected a six-figure deal for the film rights.

The independent sports drama, which tells the story of a poor small-time club fighter Rocky Balboa who gets an unlikely shot at the world heavyweight championship held by Apollo Creed, made USD 225 million from a budget of only USD 1.1 million.

This is not the first time that Ippolito has portrayed a real actor. In 2022, he played a young Al Pacino in the Paramount+ original series, "The Offer".
