29 Apr - Malaysia's own Yeo Yann Yann has been revealed to be a part of the new Tom Hardy-starring action-thriller film, "Havoc".

The Johor Bahru-born actress, known for starring in multiple award-winning films such as "Ilo Ilo" and "Wet Season", plays a character simply known as "Mother" in the film about a detective rescuing a politician's estranged son.

"Making Havoc was very fun because I got to play with guns. I had a chance to do weapons training, which I've never done before," Yeo shared in an interview with Singapore's The Straits Times.

"On set, they treat guns very, very seriously. It was amazing to understand how I should handle the weapon correctly," she said.

Yeo also said that the signs of Mother's power is the fact that she doesn't have to say anything, and that she only needed to communicate by the look in her eyes or a movement of her finger.

It is noted that Yeo made her Hollywood debut back in 2023 when she starred opposite fellow Malaysian Michelle Yeoh in "American Born Chinese".

The film, which also stars Timothy Olyphant, Jessie Mei Li and Forest Whitaker, is now on Netflix.
