10 Jun - Anand Balki recently expressed his frustration over his movie, "Server Sundaram" still in limbo, nearly a decade since its completion.

In a recent post on social media, the filmmaker said that he is happy for RJ Balaji, whose movie "Karuppu" was finally released after many delays, saying that a lot of filmmakers like him are screaming internally due to their movies not releasing.

He stated that the reason the film has yet to release was the fact that they need to clear 2.5 crores to obtain the No Objection Certificate (NOC), a mandatory legal clearance required by filmmakers to ensure copyright compliance and protect institutional reputations before producing or releasing a movie.

"For many, it may look like a financial figure. But for us, it is 8 years of waiting. It is the dream of every artist, technician, assistant director, editor, production staff, and crew member who worked tirelessly on this film," he said.

He also called for all cinema lovers, production houses, distributors, exhibitors, media friends, and influencers to share his message and spread the word, saying that it is the people who decide the fate of cinema.

Starring Santhanam in the lead, "Server Sundaram" was filmed in 2016 and was earlier set to release in January 2020. However, it missed the release slot. It also missed the slot for Pongal this year.
