11 May - Despite "Mortal Kombat II" looking to dethrone "The Devil Wears Prada 2" at the box office during the weekend, the latter emerged victorious as it continues to maintain its place at the top in the second weekend of its release.

The movie, which sees the return of Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway, has made another USD 43 million in the US and USD 75.8 million overseas, bringing a total of USD 433.2 million globally.

This also means that the sequel has now surpassed the original 2006 movie's overall box office of USD 326.7 million in just two weeks.

Meanwhile, "Mortal Kombat II" is still did very well, having a second-place finish with the projected USD 40 million debut in the US, though slower internationally with only USD 23 million.

On the other hand, the biopic "Michael," now in its third weekend, has made USD 577.3 million globally.
