5 Aug - Godzilla is ready to rise once again!

GSC Movies is thrilled to announce that the highly anticipated "Godzilla Minus Zero" will officially storm into cinemas nationwide on 5 November 2026 and in IMAX one day earlier on 4 November 2026.

The film follows the phenomenal success of "Godzilla Minus One," which captivated audiences worldwide with its breathtaking visual effects, gripping human drama and powerful reimagining of the legendary monster. Widely praised as one of the strongest and most emotionally compelling entries in the franchise, the film also made history by winning the 96th Academy Awards Winner for Best Visual Effects Award, raising expectations for its follow-up to an all-time high.

Academy Award-winning filmmaker Takashi Yamazaki returns as director, screenwriter and visual effects lead, once again bringing his distinctive cinematic vision to the next chapter of the iconic King of the Monsters.

Set in 1949, two years after the devastating events of the first film, the story continues with the Shikishima family as Japan struggles to rebuild and reclaim a sense of normalcy. However, just as peace finally appears to be within reach, a new and even more terrifying threat begins to emerge.

Ryunosuke Kamiki and Minami Hamabe reprise their roles as Koichi Shikishima and Noriko Shikishima, alongside returning cast members Hidetaka Yoshioka, Yuki Yamada, Kuranosuke Sasaki, Sakura Ando and Miou Tanaka. Celebrated actor Min Tanaka joins the cast as Kanji Murakami, a biologist carrying deep psychological scars from the war.

Combining a powerful human story, spectacular destruction scale and the return of one of cinema's most iconic monsters, "Godzilla Minus Zero" promises an unforgettable big-screen spectacle for longtime fans and a new generation of moviegoers.

The film is being shot entirely using high-definition, IMAX certified digital cameras, making it the first Japanese Godzilla production to be Filmed For IMAX. Audiences who wish to experience the film as it was made and intended to be seen can catch it in IMAX one day earlier, beginning 4 November 2026.

"Godzilla Minus Zero" opens in Malaysian cinemas on 5 November 2026.
