19 May - Keanu Reeves is lending his voice to an upcoming Japanese stop-motion action feature, "Hidari".

The actor is collaborating with Masashi Kawamura, who previously helmed the original short story back in 2023 about Jingoro Hidari, a Renaissance man who worked as a sculptor, carpenter, painter, architect, comedian, actor, kodanshi and professor of art.

The film will follow Hidari as he seeks for revenge after losing his father figure, his fiancee, and his right arm. Hidari then wielded a series of mechanical prosthetic arms of his own design and begins the quest with his wooden Sleeping Cat companion.

In a statement released to the media, Keanu stated, "I'm thrilled by the vision behind Hidari. From the proof of concept to the developed script, the team has created something truly extraordinary. It has all the makings of an exceptional film - one I'm excited to see and eager to be part of."

"I believe this project has the potential to bring something very special to audiences worldwide," he added.

No release date has been revealed just yet.

"Hidari" is conceived and directed by Masashi Kawamura
