22 Jan - "A doofus director," "a clown," and a "b***" are among the words used by Blake Lively and BFF Taylor Swift in text messages that have been obtained by the media from legal documents in the case between Blake Lively and her "It Ends with Us" director and co-star, Justin Baldoni.

The legal battle stems from the production of "It Ends with Us," a romantic drama adapted from Colleen Hoover's bestselling novel about domestic violence. What should have been a straightforward film production turned into one of Hollywood's most contentious disputes when tensions between star Blake Lively and director-star Justin Baldoni became public.

The conflict first caught public attention during the film's promotional tour in summer 2024, when fans noticed that Blake and Baldoni weren't appearing together at events and weren't following each other on social media. The situation escalated in December 2024 when Blake filed a formal complaint against Baldoni and his Wayfarer associates, claiming they "embarked on a sophisticated press and digital plan in retaliation" after she allegedly voiced concerns about purported misconduct on set.

Baldoni and his team denied the allegations and released evidence including text messages between the two of them and behind-the-scenes clips to counter Blake's accusations.

Now, newly surfaced text messages between Blake and Taylor Swift have added another layer to the controversy. In one of their conversations, Blake had asked Taylor to look over the script she revised for the movie, calling Baldoni a "doofus director of my movie" and a "clown" who "thinks he's a writer now," to which the latter texted back, "I'll do anything for you."

In another text, Taylor allegedly wrote, "I think this b***h knows something is coming because he's gotten out his tiny violin," while discussing the then upcoming New York Times article that started the whole conflict between Blake and Baldoni. In another text, Taylor reportedly wrote to Blake, "If Justin was strategic, he would be like no Taylor Swift in the trailer because that gives you more power over the film, that's your ally not his."

The texts regarding the script seemed to contradict a previous statement released by Taylor's team, in which they claimed that the singer had no involvement in the film, saying that Taylor "never set foot on the set" of It Ends with Us, had no role in creative decisions, and only licensed her song "My Tears Ricochet" for the film.

Neither Blake nor Baldoni have made a comment regarding the texts for the time being.
