"Marty Supreme" gets nil despite 11 nominations at the BAFTAs

23 Feb - ""Finding Neverland" and "Women in Love" are no longer the only two movies that won nil at the BAFTA Awards despite having received many nominations.

"Marty Supreme," which had been doing well in the awards season and was nominated in 11 categories at the BAFTA, received no win at the ceremony held on 22 February, tying the record for most losses in a single night.

Even Timothee Chalamet, who had been winning Best Actor left and right, lost to Robert Aramayo, who won for his performance in the Tourette's drama movie, "I Swear".

However, the loss doesn't mean that the movie might have a harder time at the Oscars, seeing that "Everything Everywhere All At Once," also an A24 production, managed to win seven accolades at the Academy Awards despite only bagging one award at the BAFTA back in 2022.

Helmed by Josh Safdie, the movie is set in the 1950s, and is loosely based on the story of table tennis player Marty Reisman.
