2 Jan - Maya Karin recently admitted that she actually felt a bit nervous about reprising her role as Puteri in "Duyung: Legenda Aurora", seeing that she had nearly drowned the first time she played the role back in 2008.

The actress, who is now 46, revealed that the production team had requested her to dive as deep as 5 metres during the pool training prior to filming, but that she found that she was unable to do it again at her age, especially in a mermaid costume.

"I was only able to dive as deep as 3 metres. So, I had to apologise and tell the team that it was hard for me to go even deeper," she said.

Maya also admitted that the unpredictable weather in Langkawi also served as a challenge in filming the movie.

"We even had a sand storm happened one time that caused the balcony of my room to be filled with sand," she added.

Sharing about the significant differences of the mermaid costume compared to the 2008 film, Maya expressed her relief that the costumes styled this time were much more practical.

"This time, the comfort aspect was taken into account not only for the actors, but also the crew. The costumes are now more flexible and only take about 15 to 20 minutes to put on. So, if there was any emergency, they were able to take it off easily," she added.
