RJ Balaji teases fans with an image from upcoming movie, "Karuppu"

Suriya's first look in "Karuppu" has fans buzzing

5 May - RJ Balaji is getting fans excited as he shared a screenshot of the upcoming Suriya-starrer, "Karuppu".

The image, which he posted on his social media accounts, has Suriya's character holding an aruval, with a fire blazing behind him.

He captioned it, "Trailer is cooking... Serving soon!!! #Karuppu from May 14th." The upcoming film, which has the actor playing the titular role of Saravanan/ Karuppuswamy, also co-stars Trisha Krishnan, as well as Indrans, Natty Subramaniam, Swasika, Sshivada, Supreeth Reddy and Yogi Babu.

According to IMDB, the movie stars Suriya as a lawyer who becomes possessed by a deity and battles injustice affecting marginalised communities. Cinema Online, 05 May 2026
