1 Jul - Suriya's fan club has recently released a statement denying rumours that the actor is going the Thalapathy Vijay route - that is making his political entry.

On 29 June, the All India Suriya Fans Club clarified previous remarks made by former fan club member R Veeramani at a meeting, after the latter made a statement saying, "If time decides, if God decides, no one can stop someone from becoming a people's leader," prompting many to believe that the actor was preparing for a leadership role.

Stressing that Suriya is not doing any such thing, the fan club stated that Veeramani's statement was his personal opinion and that people had wrongly interpreted it.

"Mr. Suriya has no intention of coming into politics. Through the Agaram Foundation and his welfare initiatives, continuing social service for the people gives him great happiness and fulfilment," the statement read.

The fan club requested everyone not to believe the rumours spreading on social media and instead, follow only the official announcements of the fan club.

It is noted that the actor, who was recently seen in RJ Balaji's "Karuppu," recently concluded filming his new movie, "Vishwanath and Sons".
