"Tarung: Unforgiven" is the hottest local action film phenomenon this year

26 May - Malaysian action film "TARUNG: Unforgiven" continues to record impressive achievements, having accumulated a latest collection of RM20.3 million at cinemas nationwide. This milestone further cements its position as one of the most successful and talked-about local films since its release on 7 May.

Director, Scriptwriter and Executive Producer of "TARUNG: Unforgiven", Razaisyam Rashid, said, "What touches my heart the most is not just the box office numbers, but the opportunity to witness firsthand how TARUNG: Unforgiven has been received by audiences. Throughout the film's roadshow series, Aedy and I had the chance to meet many fans in person. I hope this success will open up more space for local action films to continue growing."

Since its opening, "TARUNG: Unforgiven" has consistently drawn strong audience turnout and become a hot topic across social media. One of the key factors has been the hands-on approach of the cast - including Aedy Ashraf, Mierul Aiman, Azira Shafinaz, Amir Ahnaf, Bront Palarae, and many others - who have actively engaged with fans through roadshow appearances and personal interactions.

Last weekend saw roadshow sessions held across Perlis, Kedah, Penang, and Perak. The response was truly remarkable, with thousands of audiences and fans turning out to give the cast and filmmakers an extraordinary reception.

On social media platforms such as Threads and TikTok, the cast has also been actively engaging with audiences by responding to comments, sharing reactions, and expressing appreciation for every show of support.

The action film features an outstanding cast of local talent, including Aedy Ashraf, Mierul Aiman, Bront Palarae, Zul Ariffin, Amir Ahnaf, Azira Shafinaz, Sharifah Sakinah, Ubai Amir, Sky Iskandar, Ikmal Amry, Aeril Zafrel, Razib Salimin, Shaharuddin Thamby, Wak Ruzaidi, Theebaan G, Akmal Asyraf, as well as real-life fighters Jai JMT and Ijam Asri.
