LARGO WINCH (FFF)

Billionaire Nerio Winch (Miki Manojlovic) is found dead, drowned. An obviously suspicious death as Nerio is the founder and the majority shareholder of the powerful and expanding Winch Group. Many don`t know he adopted a son, Largo (Tomer Sisley) nearly 30 years ago from a Bosnian orphanage. The only problem is this young heir has just been thrown in prison deep in the Amazon. Accused of drug trafficking, he claims he`s innocent. With Nerio murdered and Largo in prison, this could be a plot to take control of the Winch empire.

Carrying more twists than a French twist hairdo, "Largo Winch" is adapted from the popular Belgian comic book series and is a pretty descent remake of the TV series of the same name in 2001.

The founder of W Group, billionaire Nerio Winch was found dead and this piece of news created havoc in the business world. The question that is running through everyone's mind is who will inherit this financial empire? The story reveals that Nerio has secretly adopted a young boy, Largo as his heir. This secret turns out not be that secretive after all as Largo was framed and sent to prison just after his father passed away. Escaping prison, he found out that his father was murdered and he set out to find the truth.

Largo (Tomer Sisley) is Neiro's adopted son but they have a weak relationship and disagree on most issues. Even after his father's death, he does not plan to take over his father's empire in Hong Kong. Largo comes across more as a stunt man jumping from one action scene to another than of being the film's main actor. Besides that, one scene depicted Eddy Ko, a Chinese wushu actor as a tattoo artist who looked out of place with his French accent and inked face. Meanwhile, the villains in the film vary from family members to bodyguards and an unknown woman who all try to harm him in one way or another.

As for the cinematography, the initial action scenes were blurrish with shaky camera movements at times. Using Hong Kong as the main setting didn't seem suitable for a large financial empire to operate and Hong Kongers speaking French with some Cantonese thrown in by locals just seemed out of place. Moreover, one scene looked like it was taken out from a Hong Kong movie when Largo was chased through the busy streets and finally jumped onto the top of a moving bus from an overhead bridge.

This is a decent action film that nonetheless delivers a good thriller with its many twists as aforementioned.
