"Awesome!", "Best!" and "Hilarious!" are sure to be some of the words expected from audiences when asked to describe this horror comedy film. Director Ahmad Idham has really done it this time with a movie that promises non-stop laughs and scares for the whole family to enjoy!

Led by Zizan Raja Lawak, Juliana Evans, Jue Aziz and Taiyuddin Bakar, "Hantu Bonceng" is sure to be the best local film since "KL Gangster" this year. A noteworthy praise should be given to the cast of the film that manages to capture the essence of their characters well on screen. The variation of roles from Amran the delivery boy to Halimaton the brutal nurse, Kunyit Amran's best friend and the ghost of Maya which consistently stalks Amran, brings hilarity to a whole new level.

The beginning of the film sees Amran (Zizan) winning an illegal motorbike race until the bike he is on with Maya (Juliana Evans) crashes into lorry killing Maya in the accident. The incident then leaves Maya's soul to be restless as it keeps haunting Amran surrounding his life with fear. Everytime Maya appears on screen, that's when the funniest parts take place in the film.

As the film delivers well in terms of comedy, it still lacks in the horror element leaving only its title "Hantu Bonceng" as the scariest aspect of the movie. Even though Juliana Evans manages to depict her part as the ghost well, it is her make-up and lack of special effects that makes the reviewer feel like the movie falls short at least a little bit.

Overall, the film has its weakness, however it is not too obvious as the film has adequate amounts of positive aspects that surely makes it stand out with a decent cast that manages to deliver most where it matters.
