The film tells the story of Benno, a man who wakes up one morning and finds sand is leaking out from his body. This sand is no ordinary sand as it has the power to make anyone who breathe in, or ingest it to fall asleep. His attempts to get help fails and day by day, the amount of sand leaking out of his body increases. He eventually discovers that he shares a dream with his neighbour Sandra and when he tries to ask for her help, he realizes that honesty reduces the leakage. As he tries to live an honest life, he eventually runs into trouble for his honestly which eventually leads to his withdrawal into the dream world. With time running short, will Sandra`s help save him in time?

Filem "The Sandman" ini mengisah seorang lelaki yang bernama Benno yang terjaga pada suatu pagi dan mendapati pasir keluar dari badannya. Pasir ini bukan pasir biasa kerana ia mempunyai kuasa untuk membuat sesiapa sahaja menarik nafas akan rasa mengantuk. Percubaan dia untuk meminta pertolongan tidak berhasil kerana hari demi hari, jumlah pasir yang keluar dari badannya semakin banyak. Akhirnya misteri terungkai apabila dia berkongsi mimpi dengan jirannya Sandra dan apabila beliau ingin meminta pertolongan daripada Sandra, dia sedar kejujuran itu dapat mengurangkan kebocoran pasir itu. Dia cuba untuk jujur dan kejujurannya itu membawanya ke alam mimpi. Dengan masa yang suntuk, adakah Sandra mampu menyelamatkan Benno.
