Zhao Di takes over her family farm with the help of Ah Long after the 1969 floods. After the government started reclaiming land for development in 1977, licensed owners like Zhao Di are compensated but her brother accuses her of having an affair with Ah Long to get the money for himself. Meanwhile, Osman does not approve of his son playing in a rock band as he fears the negative influence, causing his son to run away from home. As for Ah Hee and Rani, they decide to get married but their traditional parents are against it.

Selepas banjir besar melanda negara pada tahun 1969, Zhao Di telah mengambil alih ladang bapanya dengan bantuan gangster, Ah Long. Sebagaimana ekonomi Singapura semakin berkembang, pemikiran rakyat Singapura dipaksa berubah dari semasa ke semasa. Osman yang konservatif bertengkar dengan anak lelakinya, Ahmad, yang berlatih dengan kumpulan rock. Ini menyebabkan Ahmad melarikan diri. Sementara itu, Ah Hee dan Rani mengambil keputusan untuk berkahwin tetapi ibu bapa mereka tidak bersetuju. Pada tahun 1977, pihak kerajaan mula membuat pembangunan semula, memaksa penduduk keluar dari perkampungan mereka. Dalam kekecohan berlaku, Zhao Di mula jatuh sakit.

The Good, the Bad and the Forgotten Era:

• Compared to the first part of the film, the second part has more emotional and sentimental elements.

• The film portrays the realistic hurdles faced by interracial couples during that era, especially when dealing with families.

• With the children all grown up in the second part, their roles become more important in the film, but their sub-stories feel incomplete as there are just not enough time to fit in all the characters.

• Like the first part, the film is visually outstanding, showcasing the beautiful and realistic setting of a kampong and its people which is definitely nostalgic.

Trivia:

• Actor Mark Lee did for over ten takes for the scene where he slaps his niece and nephew.
