Midnight Diner 2 (JFF)

This sequel to "Midnight Diner" tells of the lives of the many customers that roll into the late-night back-alley eatery in downtown Tokyo, operated by a chef simply known as Master. The film is made up of three stories. The first tells of Noriko Akatsuka, a literary director who always wears mourning attire. The second story is of Seiko Takagi, the soba noodle restaurant owner whose son is in love with someone 15 years his senior. In the third story, Yukiko Ogawa, an old lady with dementia, loses two million yen after getting tricked by swindlers.
Kesinambungan dari filem pertama yang diangkat dari manga bersiri popular berjudul "Shinya Shokudo" nukilan Yaro Abe. Ia berlatarkan sebuah kedai makan tengah malam kepunyaan seorang cef yang dikenali sebagai Master. Filem sekuel ini mengandungi tiga cerita. Yang pertama merupakan tentang seorang editor bernama Noriko Akatsuka yang sentiasa mengenakan pakaian berkabung untuk mencerminkan tekanan yang dihadapi di tempat kerja. Cerita kedua mengisahkan tentang Seiko Takagi, pemilik restoran mi soba berdekatan, yang bimbang mengenai anak lelakinya yang enggan mengambil alih perniagaannya. Cerita ketiga pula tentang Yukiko Ogawa, seorang warga emas yang berdepan masalah apabila dia ditipu untuk melancong di Tokyo.
