One night, Miles, a nerdy video game developer who loves stirring things up on the internet, drunkenly drops an inflammatory insult on a broadcast of a deadly competition run by a gang called Skizm. The match is streamed to an online audience of millions who enjoy watching complete strangers fight to death. Riktor, the maniacal mastermind behind it, decides to forcefully include Miles as one of the death match`s participants. To Miles` horror, he wakes up with heavy pistols bolted into his bones and must now face his first opponent, a trigger-happy killer called Nix. He has successfully been avoiding Nix but when his ex-girlfriend Nova, whom he is still in love with, gets kidnapped, he knows he must finally stop running and fight to save her.

Ketika mabuk, Miles seorang pembuat permainan video yang gemar membuat 'kacau' di internet, telah mengkritik hebat penyiaran pertandingan pertarungan maut haram oleh sebuah kelab yang dipanggil Skizm. Pertandingan itu disiarkan secara langsung kepada jutaan penonton yang gemar menyaksikan orang tak dikenali bertarung hingga mati. Kritikan itu telah mencetuskan kemarahan Riktor, dalang di sebalik semuanya, yang kemudian mahu Miles terlibat sebagai salah seorang peserta pertandingan itu. Mimpi ngeri Miles menjadi kenyataan apabila dia terbangun dan mendapati senjata berat dipasang di tulangnya dan kini dia perlu berdepan dengan lawan pertamanya, iaitu pembunuh bernama Nix. Dia berjaya melarikan diri daripada Nix tetapi apabila Nova, bekas kekasih yang masih disayanginya, telah diculik, dia perlu berhenti melarikan diri dan bertarung demi menyelamatkan wanita itu.
