Maryam has endured unrelenting terror since birth. Mysterious letters appear before her-no matter how many times she burns or discards them, they always return, as if they possess their own will. She realises she is not alone. A supernatural entity has bound her with a dark promise, whispering words only she can hear and following her every step. The harder she tries to break free, the more tightly the unseen shackles ensnare her-until she no longer knows whether she is truly alive, or merely possessed by the entity forever.
Sejak lahir, Maryam sering dihantui ketakutan yang tiada henti. Surat-surat misteri muncul di hadapannya-tidak kira berapa kali dia membakar atau membuangnya, ia sentiasa kembali, seolah-olah mereka mempunyai kehendak mereka sendiri. Dia mulai sedar bahawa dia tidak keseorangan. Entiti ghaib telah mengikatnya dengan janji gelap, membisikkan kata-kata yang hanya dia dengari dan mengikuti setiap langkahnya. Semakin dia cuba melepaskan diri, semakin ketat belenggu yang tidak kelihatan itu menjeratnya sehingga dia tidak lagi tahu sama ada dia benar-benar hidup, atau telah dirasuk oleh entiti itu selama-lamanya.
